A national chain, Blue Sushi Sake Grill can be easily identified by the mechanical octopus perching above the sign. Though there are 10 locations across the nation so far, the experience certainly does not feel like one that a chain restaurant would provide. Blue lighting fixtures illuminate the restaurant to create an aquatic visual. It’s fitting due to the location in which the fresh fish comes from. Although the restaurant provides a modern atmosphere, traditional culture is incorporated in a fresh and rejuvenating manner, through art and accenting decor. Available are both a sushi and a grill menu, satisfying the needs of sushi fanatics as well as those who prefer meat or other options. In addition, many of the items are vegan and/or gluten friendly.
Knowing the cost of sushi can add up quickly, roll by roll, Blue Sushi Sake Grill has great lunch and happy hour specials. On the lunch special (Monday-Friday 11am- 2pm), two Maki rolls cost $13, one Maki roll plus one order of Sashimi costs $16, and one Maki roll plus one order of sashimi costs $14, all served with a choice of delicious Miso soup or house salad. On the happy hour special (Monday-Friday 3-6:30pm; Sunday 12-8pm), more than 20 specified Maki rolls and 5 specific Sashimi and Nigiri pieces are offered at discounted prices. Included in happy hour is discounted alcoholic beverages for guests 21 and older, as well as select appetizers.
With dozens of restaurants that specialize in sushi in the Denver area, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is definitely one to check out. With two locations in Colorado, one in lower Downtown Denver and the other in Centennial at Southglenn, both in prime retail areas, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is a great casual restaurant to roll on over to for a quiet lunch out or a night on the town.
