A week to give. A week to believe. A week to focus on others. A week of wishes. The 2017 Wish Week begins today. For freshman, this week is a new experience. They may have heard about it in middle school, however now is the time for them to fully participate. As for other students, Wish Week is familiar. For all students and faculty of Chaparral High School, it is time to be in it.
There are many opportunities to get involved and raise money for the Wish kid and they all start today.
First off is the opening assembly. There is still a chance to bring in extra change to drop in the buckets during Miracle Minute. This is a great and easy way to give to this years Wish kid.
There is also still time to sign up for the Link Crew 5k. Sign-ups are only 20 dollars and it comes with a great tshirt. The 5k starts at 2:30. Anyone can participate in the 5k and no one has to feel obligated to run. Walking is totally acceptable. Right after the 5k is the Festival. Filled with games, food trucks, and more, the Festival is a great event to check out to get involved. The Festival starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm.
Throughout the week different restaurants will have nights where the money will go to Wish Week, if the restaurant is told that the party is with Chaparral. Some of the restaurants are Chick-Fil-A on Monday from 4pm to 8pm, Chipotle on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm, and Kujani on Wednesday from 6am to 9am. This is any easy way to get a whole family involved in Wish Week.
On Monday and Tuesday, there is a movie night, at 5:30, and game show, at 6:30. There is a dodgeball tournament, on Wednesday, at 6pm with signups still open, as well. Gather up a team and compete against others all for a great cause.
Finally the whole week comes to a close. The last way to be involved is going to the closing assembly. At the assembly, the amount of money raised from the week will be announced.
All of these events are simple ways to get involved in the 2017 Wish Week.
So is Chaparral ready to be In It For Who?
