On Saturday, the 4th of March, Chaparral held the annual wish week festival and 5k. The 5k started at 2:30, the festival started around 4 and ended at 7. The festival was held in the gym, and commons area. Student government and certain clubs arranged booths where visitors could buy tickets and play games. Some games included basketball, mini golf and ping pong throw. Student Government also had set up two bouncy houses and giant hamster balls in the gym. Outside four food trucks served pizza, ice cream, shaved ice and barbecue. “I loved it, I liked all the food trucks and my favorite thing about it was being with my friends and seeing my younger sister having fun while supporting Isabelle.” Said Freshman Colin Hayes. The set up time for the festival and the decorations around the school took over 10 hours of time.”I ran a table where people could write notes for the former Wish Kids and their families, as well as Isabelle, and I witnessed genuine love and support from Chap students as they wrote encouraging notes to those families; telling them to keep going and how much they loved having them as a Wish Kid.” Said Student Government member Noah Gerwinat.
