Jack DeWolf, Nick Kounkel, Leslie Delay and Grace Casper were just a few of the students who participated in the DECA State event this past weekend spanning from February 21st through February 23rd. These students in particular, though, received an invitation and $500 scholarship to develop their entrepreneurial idea through Catapult's intensive startup Incubator program. Jack DeWolf & Nick Kounkel got first place in Written Campaigns/ Presentation Events as well as Meredith Mistrot. Bryn Pellowe ran for a Colorado State Officer position. She completed a thorough application process, presented a speech and was carefully interviewed by a large committee the past couple days. She was voted as the State Publicity Director for the 2016-2017 school year and will start her leadership role at the International Conference in April. With the most state competitors in history, over 3,000 students compete for these along with countless other awards made available to competitors. By the end of the weekend, twenty-five students scored high enough to qualify for the national competition later this year, which will be located in Nashville, Tennessee. Advisors Sara Mossman and Mark Stevens accompanied the students and were able to contribute to the group’s overall success.
